Global Innovation Index 2017

​The Global Innovation Index 2017 (GII), in its 10th edition this year, is co-published by Cornell University, INSEAD, and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The GII theme this year is “Innovation Feeding the World”. The report which has been published on the 15th June 2017 ranks Mauritius at the 64th place compared to 53rd in 2016. The GII measures and ranks the innovation performance of 127 economies worldwide. It is based on 82 indicators, capturing criteria such as institutions, human capital and research, infrastructure, linkages, the creation of knowledge and creative outputs. Global Cybersecurity Index 2017

​The second edition of Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI 2017) published by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) on 15th June 2017 measures the commitment of Member States to cybersecurity in order to raise awareness. The CGI 2017 covers all the 193 member states. Mauritius with a score of 0.82 is ranked 6th in the world in 2017 and is the top ranked country in the Africa region. Singapore is the top ranked country in the world with a score of 0.92, followed by USA (0.91), Oman (0.89), Malaysia (0.87) and Estonia (0.84).   Read More »

About ICT Indicators

 

The Mauritius ICT Indicators Portal is a web-based system that consolidates ICT-related statistics in the country. With just a click of the mouse, anyone from the government, private sector, and the general public can access ICT statistics and other related information. The portal also promotes proper management of statistical data that can be used for policy research, plans and projects development and implementation, and analysis of the ICT sector.

The Portal was created by the National Computer Board (NCB) operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Technology, Communication and Innovation.
